NO SCHOOL ON AUG 14TH AND AUG 15TH

Friendly reminder there will be no school on Thursday, August 14th for a Teacher Professional Development Day and Friday, August 15th in observance of Statehood Day. The school office will be open on Thursday, August 14th from 7:30-4:00 pm.

Salt Lake Elementary School Has A New Principal!

We're thrilled to announce that Mr. Randall Galeon has been selected as the new Principal of Salt Lake Elementary School, effective July 22, 2025. Mr. Galeon has been an invaluable part of our school community, serving as Vice Principal at Salt Lake Elementary for the past eight years. We're excited for his continued leadership in this new role!

Meet & Greet 2025, School Supply List & Uniform Sales

Our annual Meet & Greet will be on Thursday, July 31st from 4:00-6:00 pm. Students and families will be able to visit the classroom, meet their teacher, turn in school supplies (labeled), purchase uniforms, submit meal payments and complete the Free & Reduced Lunch Application to help SLES retain its Title I status! We look forward to seeing you on July 31st!

Last Papa John's Pizza Fundraiser this Thursday, May 15th!

Thursday May 15th is our last Papa Johns fundraiser for the school year! Order from any Papa Johns island wide to help SLES raise funds for school wide initiatives. 25% of the recorded sales will be donated to SLES!

SLES Professional Development Day

There will be a Professional Development Day on Monday, May 12, 2025. There will be no school for students. The office will be open from 7:30-4:00 pm. School resumes on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.

Smarter Balanced Assessments Begin for Grades 3-6!

Salt Lake Elementary students in Grades 3-6 will begin taking the Smarter Balanced Assessments (SBA) in English Language Arts and Math starting Tuesday, April 22nd to Thursday, May 1st. Please help us encourage our dolphins to do their very best and demonstrate Dolphin P.R.I.D.E!

Hi5 Recycling Drive

Student Council Hi5 Recycling Drive on April 16th from 7:30-7:55 am

You can help by bringing aluminum cans and plastic bottles. All proceeds from the drive will be used to fund student council activities, including to fund our staff and student appreciation gifts (e.g. appreciation gifts on Student Appreciation Day). All cans and bottles must be received by 7:55 a.m. to count towards the class total.

Complete the School Quality Survey (SQS) By 3/12!

Each year the Hawaii Department of Education asks parents/guardians to complete the School Quality Survey to gather feedback and information about your perception of your child’s safety and well-being at school, as well as your satisfaction with the school. Your responses are confidential and will help SLES in our continuous improvement efforts.
